Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has directed the Rivers State Police Command to go after and arrest a House of Representatives member and governorship aspirant, Farah Dagogo.
It was gathered that this is coming after the Rivers governor declared Dagogo, who is a governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) wanted.
Wike accused the federal lawmaker of using cultists to attack the PDP secretariat in Port Harcourt, to disrupt the screening of aspirants for various elective positions.
The Governor, in a statement by his Special Assistant, Media, Kelvin Ebiri, said: “The Police must as a matter of urgency arrest Farah Dagogo, wherever he is, and must be made to face prosecution.
“Already, some the hoodlums hired by Farah Dagogo have been arrested and will be made to face the full wrath of the law.”
But a source told The Nation that Dagogo knew nothing about the incident at the PDP secretariat.
The source stated that a group of aspirants vying for the House of Assembly and National Assembly tickets protested the refusal of the PDP Committee to screen.
He said, “While they were addressing journalists at the PDP secretariat, policemen arrived the scene and started shooting into the air.
“They arrested some of the aspirants and took them away. Dagogo was not there. Why will they declare him wanted?”
