Popular gospel singer and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has sparked widespread reactions online following a stern warning to married men involved in extramarital affairs.

In a sermon that has since gone viral and posted on TikTok by @empressmargarretterkaleka, Bassey condemned the act of married men allegedly deceiving young women into relationships, describing it as dangerous and morally corrupt.

โ€œYouโ€™re a married man and you go about deceiving young girls, leading them on. Some even go as far as sleeping with them,โ€ he said while addressing his congregation.

Issuing a strong warning, the cleric declared, โ€œI place a demand upon the grace of lifeโ€”if you try it this year, you wonโ€™t survive. Your shame will not be forgotten. It will be on social media.โ€

Bassey further cautioned married men against taking women to hotels under false pretences, stating, โ€œYou take a lady to a hotel, you lie meanwhile youโ€™re marriedโ€”you will not come out from that hotel.โ€

He also directed a strong message at young women who knowingly engage in relationships with married men. He criticised what he described as material-driven motivations, warning that pursuing wealth, luxury items, or social status at the expense of moral values could lead to severe repercussions

โ€œYou too, youโ€™re a lady, you know the man youโ€™re dating is married, but because of greed, attention and Brazilian wig, you want to carry Louis Vuitton bagโ€”if you try it, you wonโ€™t survive it,โ€ he warned.

Bassey concluded by urging listeners not to trivialise his message, saying, โ€œIf you like, take what Iโ€™m saying jokingly.โ€

The video has continued to generate intense debate across social media platforms, with users divided over the tone and implications of the sermon.
