No fewer than eleven suspects have been arrested by the Osun State Police Command over alleged armed robbery, conspiracy, and theft.
Osun Defender reports that the suspects arrested include Seyi Ojo, male, 33 years old; Kamorudeen Quadri, male, 32 years old; Ogbemudia Sunday, male, 48 years old; Fatai Toheeb, male, 22 years old; David Adebayo, male, 43 years old; David Aderemi, male, 30 years old; Olalekan Musiliu, male, 35 years old; and Ayodeji Kehinde, male, 39 years old.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Hope Okafor, stated this during a press briefing in Osogbo on Monday.
Okafor disclosed that the press briefing was organised to showcase the successes recorded by the command in recent times.
She disclosed further that the suspects were arrested in different sting operations.
She added that exhibits recovered from them include a Toyota Corolla salon car, a Toyota Highlander, eight bags of dry cocoa beans, one red-coloured Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, different types of phones, and a gold chain.
Okafor also revealed that a suspect, Dada Taiwo, was hospitalised after he sustained gunshot wounds during a faceoff with the police.
Okafor also revealed that the suspects have all confessed to the crimes and will be charged to court after the completion of investigations.
She urged members of the public who lost valuables to criminals to come to the headquarters to check if their properties were among those recovered from the suspects.
“The Police Command is using this medium to inform the general public that those whose properties are among the recovered exhibits should come with the necessary documents to prove ownership at Police Headquarters, Ring-Road, Osogbo, Osun State,” she said.
