12 Dead, 5 Injured In Kano Lone Accident
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Friday, confirmed the death of 12 persons and five others injured in a lone accident that occurred in Kano.
FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Muhammed Bature, said that the accident occurred at about 2:40 a.m. on Friday at Samawa Village in Garun Malam Local Government Area, on the Zaria–Kano highway.
In a statement in Kano, Bature said the accident involved a DAF CF95 trailer, with registration number KMC 931 ZE, loaded with goods.
He said that the incident involved 19 persons, with 12 persons died, five others sustained varying degrees of injuries and two unhurt.
The sector commander explained that the accident occurred when the trailer lost control and crashed because its cab detached from its body due to a mechanical failure in the trailer’s cab hook.
“The deceased victims were evacuated and deposited at Nassarawa Hospital, while the injured were taken to Kura General Hospital for medical attention,” he said.
The sector commander cautioned drivers against speeding, dangerous driving, and other unwholesome practices that might endanger lives and property.
