14 Die, Several Injured As Tailer Rams Worshippers During Jumuat In Kano

No fewer than 14 worshippers lost their lives while several others sustained varying injuries when a trailer ran into Jumuat prayer worshippers in Kano State.

The incident happened in Imama town, Kura Local Government Area of the state shortly after the Friday prayer.

The driver of the trailer coming from Kaduna axis with registration number MKA 537XN was said to have lost control and ran into the worshippers

A statement by the Kano Sector Commander of the FRSC, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said the incident was reported at 1350hrs.

The statement signed by the Corps spokesman, Abdullahi Labaran, said nine of the deceased were buried on Friday afternoon while those injured were receiving treatment at a hospital.

According to the statement, the driver of the trailer is at large.

The statement read, “Upon receiving the distress call, FRSC Kano State Command promptly dispatched personnel to the scene, alongside other security agencies, to initiate rescue operations and provide immediate medical assistance to the injured victims.’’
