15-Year-Old Housewife Poisons Husband In Kano

A 15-year-old housewife, Hasana, has been arrested by the police in Kano State for allegedly poisoning the food of her husband, Sali Abubakar.

The 33-year-old victim, according to the police, is in a critical condition at the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, said the suspect hailed from Bichi village, in the Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.

“On April 16, 2019, around 2 pm, the command received a report that the suspect served her husband food laced with rat poison.

“The victim was rushed to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital for treatment,” he said.

The PPRO noted that the command had commenced investigation into the matter, adding that on completion, the suspect would be prosecuted.

As of the time of filing this report, the suspect was still in the custody of the command.
