16,000 Rural Women In Kwara To Gets Grants

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State and the President of Aliko Dangote Foundation, Alhaji Aliko Dangote will on Wednesday March 31st flag-off disbursement of micro grants to 16,000 rural women in the State of Harmony.

The empowerment programme is a joint initiative of the Chairman, Aliko Dangote Foundation and Kwara State Government tagged, Micro Grants for Rural Women

Hon. Kayode Oyin-Zubair disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday morning.

The flag-off ceremony will according to him take place in Bode-Saadu, Moro local government, Kwara State.

He added that the selection process which started in August 2020 went through a due diligence with inputs from critical stakeholders at the grassroots level.

According to Hon Kayode Oyin-Zubair, “Having ensured that necessary steps were taken to satisfy all the requirements, 16,000 rural women in the state are billed to receive the grants.

“Each of the beneficiaries will receive N10,000 cash grant and it will be one thousand women per local government.

“This would mean injection of N10,000,000 into the economy of each of the sixteen local councils and a total of N160m into the economy of the state during Easter celebration and the Ramadan fasting period.

“However, the list of beneficiaries will be pasted on the notice board at local government secretariats across the state.

“Beneficiaries are also expected to consult their ward and local government selection committees for further details.”

“The AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration has continued to carry every development partner in its quest to banish hunger and poverty from the state,” he concluded.
