Ace Nigerian comedian, Basketmouth, has publicly apologised to his colleague, AY Makun.
In a post on his Instagram page, the comedy king said the apology is not just to the comedy world at large but also to anyone he might have ruffled feathers with.
While noting that his apology might be late, he hoped that those he offended will embrace him.
Basketmouth also took a moment to extend apologies to those who had accused him of actions that allegedly affected their careers.
Earlier this year, AY, in an interview, with another industry mate, Tejubabyface revealed that the 17-year-old feud had its roots in unpaid dues from a show he hosted for Basketmouth.
In another interview, one of those who has been hurt by the comedian’s actions, Destalker recalled how Basketmouth blocked sponsors who had called to inquire for his show from something that could have helped his career.
The podcast hosted by popular OAP Nedu and colleagues was another of the series of fingers pointed at him over issues relating to impeding deals, show sponsorships and other allied matters.
Basketmouth said, “To all the people in the industry and beyond that I have offended over time, knowingly or unknowingly, I say this from the bottom of my heart, I am genuinely sorry. And to the people who have accused me of doing things that have affected their career, I am not going to accept or deny these allegations, but please forgive me.
“To the people that have accused me of mean things that I’ve affected their career in one way or the other, I am not going to accept or deny these allegations, God knows the truth but regardless please, forgive me, I beg you from the bottom of my heart.”
He also mentioned comedian AY Makun, urging him to forgive and settle their 17-year grudge.
“Now, to my guy AY, I don’t know if my apology is still valid right now, but if it is, please forgive me for whatever I have done or said in the past that affected you in any way, Please, forgive me.
“I want you to know that I’ve forgiven you for whatever you said knowing or unknowingly. It’s gone, I just want us to live with peace and harmony,” he pleaded.
