17-Year-Old Arrested For Allegedly Removing Sister’s Eyes For Money Ritual
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested 17-year-old Auwalu Muhammad for allegedly gouging out his sister’s eyes in a suspected money ritual in Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Council, Bauchi State.
According to the police, the incident took place on October 17, 2025, when Auwalu lured his sister, Rukayya Muhammad, into a bush and attacked her, removing both eyes in an alleged bid to gain wealth.
SP Ahmed Wakil, the Command’s spokesperson, said the victim’s father reported the incident after discovering the brutal attack. A medical specialist has confirmed that Rukayya’s sight has been permanently lost.
“During interrogation, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime. Investigation is ongoing to uncover the motive and bring all those involved to justice,” Wakil added.
Six others have also been arrested in connection with the case. They are Auwal Dahiru (17), Mohammed Rabiu (19), Saleh Ibrahim (20), Nasiru Muhammad, Hassan Garba, and Garba Dahiru (43), all residents of Ganjuwa Local Council.
