A 17-year-old boy, Ojibe Chibueze, has committed suicide in Lagos.
The late Chibueze was allegedly accused of stealing his boss’s N100,000.
The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, noted that investigations had commenced into the circumstances surrounding the death.
The deceased was said to have been declared missing until his lifeless body was recovered by his family.
Hundeyin said, “Today, being 12/02/24 at about 07:hours, one Cynthia reported at Elemore division that her brother, Ojibe Chibueze, aged 27, came back from work at about 20:00 of yesterday, 11/03/24, took some money and went out.
“She stated further that the master of the boy, where he worked later, came and informed her that her brother stole the sum of one hundred thousand naira from his shop.
“The complainant further stated that the said Ojibe Chibueze did not come back home till she received a phone call from one of her neighbours that she saw her brother lying dead at the Abijo bus stop, after which she rushed to the scene and met her brother’s lifeless body with a plastic bottle of Sniper beside him, which she presumed that he drank.
“On receipt of the report, detectives from the division visited the scene, and foam was gushing out of his mouth and nose.
“The can of the sniper has been recovered as an exhibit. The corpse has been removed and deposited at the Epe General Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation. The investigation is ongoing.”.
