As the 2019 General Elections draw nearer, the Director General of the socio-political group, Oranmiyan, Olajide Sadiq has advised youths to do away with anything that can jeopardize their future.
Sadiq gave the advise while receiving the leadership of various Student Union Groups in his office at Oranmiyan house in Osogbo on Thursday.
He urged them not to allow politicians use them as agents of destruction before, during and after the forthcoming national elections.
He said the last administration under the leadership of former governor Rauf Aregbesola was kind with students as no student was expelled from the state owned state tertiary institutions.
The Oranmiyan Boss explained that the symbol of good governance, Ogbeni Aregbesola came to liberate the students from menace, harassment, intimidation and oppression which characterized the opposition reign in the state.
Sadiq charged the student leaders to embark on election sensitization missions to see that they vote en-masse for the progressive party in the election.
He called for more synergy between the state government and the student union leaders to make for continued collaboration and support.
Abosede Oluwaseun, the leader of the delegation and SA on Student Affairs to the State Government said the student union believed so much in the pan-African motive of the Oranmiyan identity and symbol.
He restated the students resolve to always strengthen the relationship between the Oranmiyan structure of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola to cater for the interest of the masses especially poor students in the state tertiary institutions.
The student Union Leaders also solicited for the support of the Gboyega Oyetola led administration in ensuring the entrenchment of the legacies of Ogbeni Aregbesola and the Pro-Democracy and Activism struggle of the former Governor in reviving and upholding the true tenets of Oranmiyan.
