2021: Osun Speaker, Owoeye Wants Nigerians To Rekindle Hope Of Better Days

 

The Speaker, State of Osun House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Timothy Owoeye has called on Nigerians to put behind the negativities of outgoing year and forge ahead with hope that year 2021 will be a year of prosperity.

The Speaker in a New year message by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Alabi held that People and Governments at all levels must strive to ensure that the New year herald a speedy recovery of the economy.

Owoeye stressed that residents and citizens must wait in hopes that all that was lost with happenings of the previous year will be recouped through hard work and perseverance.

He stated that the 7th Assembly under his watch in Osun while passing the year 2021 Appropriation bill into law ensured that it is a budget that will bring dividend of democracy and prosperity to the people of the State.

His words, “In Osun, the House of Assembly in collaboration with Governor Oyetola led executive provides that the 2021 budget focused strongly on post COVID-19 recovery with huge investments in the economy and a whopping sum of N1.4bn budgeted for Youth Developmental programmes.

“The House of Assembly in her resolve to ensure that the New year is better charged implementing Ministries and agencies not to dampen the morale of the Assembly by continually working hard to deliver on all the components of the budget for the betterment of our people as we put behind us all that has happened in year 2020.

“The resolve of the Assembly to strengthen its oversight mechanism in 2021 is like never before, we will be holding quarterly budget performance interaction with MDAs as well as sustaining public engagement to enable it get factual feedback from our People.

“I want to charge us all not to lose focus, we will have to pursue that which we have missed and lost last year, I am of the assurance that if we put our hearts to it, we will surely overtake and recover in many folds in the New year”.
