Contrary to wide spread media report that the National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress APC, yesterday decided on indirect mode of primary for the 2023 presidential election, no decision was taken on the matter.
The clarification was made by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Mork, while appearing on Politics Today, a popular program on Channels TV with Okinbaloye.
When asked what the decision of the NEC was as touching the mode of primary, Mork said, ” We didn’t make a decision about that, I have read a few reports suggesting that a particular mode of primary was decided today, that’s not the case.
“But in the coming days, the NWC, especially giving it’s new authority with the powers that were ceeded to it by the NEC will be grappling that question and will make the decision in the coming days.”
About fifteen members of the party have so far declared interest in flying the flag of the party for the apex office.
