Ahead of the 2023 general election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has presented the new list of persons who registered in 2021 to the various political parties on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to INEC, the presentation of the voter’s register complies with the newly passed electoral law.
The Commission relied on Section 10(3) of the Electoral Act 2022, which states that “the Commission shall, within 60 days after each year, make available to every political party the names and addresses of each person registered during that year”.
According to a release published on the commission’s website, INEC said, “In compliance with the requirement of the law, the Commission has today made available the softcopies of the list of persons registered as voters in 2021 to each political party.”
