Candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Osun East Senatorial District in the forthcoming general elections, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, has called on the people of the state not to relent in seeking the face of God for a peaceful election.
Famurewa noted that to have a general election devoid of rancour, particularly in Osun state and Nigeria as a whole, citizens, irrespective of their religion, must put God first.
Speaking after the new year prayer organized by Christian Association of Nigeria, Ile-Ife chapter, Famurewa commended the body for their consistent prayers for the sustenance of peace in the state.
The former Osun SUBEB boss stressed that now that the election is fast approaching and the coast is becoming clearer, religion bodies must not relent in their prayers.
He used the occasion to appeal to the people of Ife/Ijesa zone who are yet to collect their PVC to do so now that INEC has decided to take the distribution to their doorsteps, noting that, it is the only power they have to choose their preferred candidates.
His words, “Our people in Ife/Ijesa have tried the two parties and they have seen the one that has their love at heart. Our party, APC, is the only party that is sensitive about the needs of the masses, we are progressives and I promise to make life better for our people if elected.
“I am appealing that our people should vote for APC, both at State and National level. Our presidential candidate is capable, he will surely take this nation to a safe haven”
In his remark, CAN chairman in Ile-Ife, Rev Canon Sam Leye Onitiju commended the presence of Famurewa, particularly for the financial donation he made towards the Ecumenical Centre’s project.
