The Presidential Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Dele Momodu, publisher of Ovation Magazine, as the director of campaign on strategic communications.
Aminu Tambuwal, governor of Sokoto state, who is the director-general of the campaign council, made the announcement in a statement on Friday.
Momodu was a contestant in the PDP presidential primary election held in May.
According to Tambuwal, 16 others have also been appointed to lead various directorates of the campaign council.
They include Sam Amadi, former chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), as director of research; Umar Bature, PDP national organising secretary, as director of field operations; Austin Opara as director of training, Abdullahi MaiBasira as director in charge of finance, and Koko Essien, a former brigadier-general, as director to oversee security and intelligence.
Others named as directors are Ibrahim Bashir (administration), Kamaldeen Ajibade (legal affairs), Iyorwuese Hagher (election management), Sanyaolu Modupeola (monitoring & evaluation), Ahmed Magaji (international affairs), Osita Chidoka (voter intelligence & strategy), Isah Odidi (diaspora group), Baraka Sani (support group), and Nurudeen Ademola (technical).
Also included are Tolford Ongolo as deputy director, election management (south), and Chile Igbawua as deputy director, election management (north).
“The directors are to please, contact the DDG, administration, Prof. Adewale Oladipo for further details. It is believed that your commitment to the campaign’s overall success will justify the confidence reposed in you by the leadership of our party,” the statement reads.
