Former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has been elected as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
Obi emerged at Labour Party’s Convention and presidential primary held in Asaba, the Delta State capital, on Monday.
Professor Pat Utomi had earlier stepped down for Obi.
Utomi stated that Obi is a younger aspirant with the capacity to effect the needed change in the Nigerian system.
Another aspirant, Joseph Faduri, also stepped down for the former governor.
Obi, who was a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant, resigned from the party and withdrew from the presidential race last week.
