2026: Babalola As APC Candidate Will Defeat Adeleke – Group To Party Leaders, Members
A socio-political group under the aegis of Volunteers For Peter Action, VPA, has canvassed for the candidature of Dr Peter Adebayo Babalola as the next governor of Osun State in 2026.
The group urged leaders, stakeholders, and members of the All Progressives Congress in the state to consider Babalola as a rally point, loved by all and sundry.
According to the group, Peter Babalola has proved himself to be a leader who could be trusted with the resources of Osun, having served in different capacities in governance.
A release signed by the group’s coordinator, Prince Lukman Abidoye, stated that the Ikire-born Babalola is a man who has lived service, breathed development, and is now ready to redeem the promise of Osun.
According to the statement, “Peter Action’s political odyssey mirrors the pulse of Osun’s democratic evolution; shaped by conviction, service, and regional fairness. He began his public life in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where he learned the core principles of grassroots politics and community engagement. But his commitment to service soon transcended party lines.
“When the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and later the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged, Dr. Babalola became one of its stabilizing figures in Osun, rising to serve as Chairman of the Osun State Local Government Service Commission — a role that brought him face-to-face with the daily realities of local governance.
”Yet, in 2018, guided by principle rather than political comfort, insisting that the spirit of equity demanded Osun West’s turn to produce the governor. His move was a loud statement – that justice and fairness must guide leadership rotation in the state.

”In 2024, he joined forces with the APC, not out of desperation but with a mission – to unite, to rebuild, and to deliver. His return was strategic and people-driven; he pledged to mobilize across all 30 local governments and 332 wards to reposition the party for credible victory.
”Across the aisles, one thing remains constant, Peter Babalola’s loyalty is to Osun, not to political labels. He is the experience Osun can trust.
”If Osun truly seeks progress anchored on fairness, experience, and people-first development, then Peter Babalola is not just a candidate. He is the Redeemer. The New Hope. The People’s Choice.”
