2026: Davido Alleges Intimidation By APC In Osun As Gunshots Panic Osogbo Residents
Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has alleged that the opposition All Progressives Congress in Osun State is terrorising residents of the state.
This was, as he said, the recent activities of the APC will not win the August 15 election for its candidate, Mr Bola Oyebamiji.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday, Davido wrote, “All these won’t win that August 15th governorship election for AMUBO your candidate sha.
“How many people need to die due to your guys’ style of extreme politicking? E wa n terrorise awon eyan kiri igboro.”
The post came hours after residents of the state were thrown into panic after unidentified gunmen reportedly fired sporadic gunshots in parts of the city.
Eyewitnesses said the sound of gunfire sent residents, traders, motorists and passersby scampering for safety to avoid being caught in the violence.
Not less than three people were confirmed injured during the incident.
The development has heightened concerns over security and political violence in the state, coming amid recent reports of violent incidents in Osogbo and surrounding communities.
Meanwhile, the Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council has expressed grave concern over the alarming spike in politically-motivated violence in the state, targeted primarily at innocent citizens and supporters of its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
The APC claimed that its campaign buses were on Tuesday, attacked and vandalized by suspected hoodlums allegedly working with PDP/Accord in the Owode-Ede area.
