Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has called on residents to remain united, law-abiding and cooperative with the government in order to build a prosperous future for the Pacesetter State.

Speaking during his New Year broadcast, Makinde appreciated residents for their resilience, trust and support throughout 2025, noting that despite economic pressures and challenges, the state was “hard pressed, but not crushed.”

The governor said government alone cannot build the state, stressing the need for citizens’ active participation in making Oyo productive, peaceful and orderly.

He added that the signing of the 2026 Budget of Economic Expansion has laid a solid foundation for economic growth and improved livelihoods.

Reflecting on 2025, Makinde said his administration remained focused, transparent and committed to long-term development despite distractions.

He highlighted investments in infrastructure, agriculture and tourism, noting that projects like the Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road and agribusiness initiatives are designed to unlock growth, attract investment and create jobs in the new year.
