2026: Omisore Absent As Osun APC Aspirants Meet Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu has met with All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants from Osun State at the Presidential Villa ahead of the December 13 primary.
Pictures from the meeting show most aspirants present, including Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji and Mulikat Abiola Jimoh, but Iyiola Omisore is notably missing.
Omisore, a former senator and ex-APC National Secretary, was among seven aspirants disqualified by the party’s screening committee for allegedly failing to meet nomination requirements.
Omisore and six others were barred from contesting the December 13 primary after the committee held they failed to meet mandatory nomination requirements.
After the meeting, the two aspirants cleared to contest are Oyebamiji and Mulikat Abiola Jimoh.
Omisore has described his disqualification as “the jokest report of the year,” claiming the screening decision was politically motivated to favour Oyebamiji.
