2026: Omisore’s Ally Bamisayemi Resigns From APC
Mr Folorunso Bamisayemi, a former Commissioner for Education in Osun State, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress.
Bamisayemi served under the administration of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
In his letter of resignation dated June 01 and addressed to the chairman of the party in Kere ward 09, Ife South local government, Bamisayemi an ally of former national secretary of the APC, Senator Iyiola Omisore, said the resignation takes immediate effect.
He wrote, “After weeks of introspection and reflection on recent political developments within the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, I have conclusively resolved to resign my membership of the party with immediate effect.
“I sincerely appreciate the leadership and members of the party at the State level, Ife Federal Constituency and Ife South Local Government.”
OSUN DEFENDER gathered that his resignation may trigger a wave of defection from the APC among loyalists of the former deputy governor of the state, Senator Iyiola Omisore, ahead of the August 15 gubernatorial election.
