Ogunbiyi who spoke in Yoruba language in the video, said, “When we went to meet with President Bola Tinubu. The President told us that he does not expect a candidate from us in Osun that it was Ademola that he invited so that he can spend money and make things easier for him.

“The President, said ‘Gboyega, you are the one who said you don’t want it”, so how you will win the Osun election,” the short circulating video ended.

Dr Ogunbiyi had on Friday, formally declared his intention to contest the Osun West Senatorial seat before party stakeholders in Iwo, expressing confidence in securing the ticket through consensus.

Speaking at the stakeholders’ meeting, Ogunbiyi said the entire Osun West senatorial leadership is solidly behind him.

According to him, “If you look at my antecedents, my profile, and my experience, you will know that having me as senator will be a plus for my people.”

He explained that his appearance at the meeting was to formally notify party leaders of his intention ahead of a public declaration. “I came to inform them before I go out officially,” he stated.
