2026: Release Voters’ Register To All Political Parties – Adeleke Campaign Committee Tells Osun REC
The Civil Society Engagement Sub-Committee of the Imole Campaign Council has called on the Osun State Resident Electoral Commission to immediately release the voters’ register to all political parties in the state.
The committee said transparency in the electoral process requires that every party be given access to verify the list.
The Chairman of the committee, Mr Funmiso Babarinde, in a statement, criticised what he called a growing and suspicious relationship between the opposition party and the Resident Electoral Commissioner.
“We are aware of the reported meeting between the opposition party and the REC. “We challenge the Osun REC to address this explosive leak.”
He said the only way to dispel public suspicion was for the Independent National Electoral Commission in Osun to release the current voters’ register without delay.
“Democracy thrives on openness. We demand immediate release of the voters register so all political parties can verify the list across the state,” Babarinde added.

The statement warned that any attempt to manipulate the register would undermine public confidence in the upcoming elections and could trigger avoidable political tension.
It urged civil society organizations, the media, and other stakeholders to join in monitoring the process to ensure fairness and credibility.
The Imole Campaign Council sub-committee said it would continue to engage the public and relevant authorities to safeguard the integrity of the August 15 polls.
Efforts to get the reaction of the INEC in Osun proved abortive at the time of filing this report.
