The leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Osun West Senatorial District has warned bloggers to desist from making social media posts capable of breaking the party ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

The warning was part of the resolution of the stakeholders after their meeting at the APC West Senatorial office, Iwo on Thursday.

The resolution, signed by the APC West Senatorial chairman, Akintola Omolaoye, also urged President Bola Tinubu to consider more people from the zone for Federal appointments.

“This meeting calls on our Party leadership to ensure that Osun West Senatorial District is positively considered without any inimical string attached in 2026 Guber contest only if the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola is not racing for the seat whilst all social bloggers from this District should desist from any form of uncomplimentary writings/posts that can break our Party.

“This District strongly appeals to the President of Nigeria, Senator Hammed Bola Tinubu to consider more of our sons and daughters for Federal appointments to justify our unalloyed commitment to the Party in all elections,” the resolution reads.

The stakeholders also appealed to security agencies to fish out perpetrators of the February 17 violent clash between members of the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party over the control of local governments, which resulted in the death of at least four people, including the Irewole local government chairman, Aderemi Abbas.

The stakeholders while reiterating their support for President Tinubu’s led federal government, urged party members to remain committed.

“This District passes votes of confidence in the leadership of the Party and the President Tinubu-led administration. We urge that necessary steps be taken by the Federal Government to avoid preventable loss of lives, which we experienced recently in Osun State, and call on all Law agencies that culprits of such crimes are brought to book to serve as a deterrence to others,” the resolution added.
