The rumoured plan defection of Governor Ademola Adeleke to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is unsettling the party, especially the camp of a governorship candidate backed by Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Bola Oyebamiji.
Since the rumour surfaced some weeks ago, the APC has issued press releases and organised press conferences to press their intention not to have Governor Adeleke in its fold.

Tuesday’s visit to the Lagos Home of President Bola Tinubu by Governor Adeleke, his uncle, Deji Adeleke, and singer David Adeleke further sent shivers down the spine of the APC members, with some going as far as abusing President Tinubu, for hosting the Adeleke family.
After the visit, the camp of governorship aspirant Bola Oyebamiji held a press conference where they rejected the alleged deal by President Tinubu and Governor Adeleke for the latter to decamp to the APC.
The camp said Governor Adeleke should not bother to defect to its fold, noting that there is no space for him in the party.

Owoeye further noted, “I am saying this categorically that APC ticket is not for sale. As a matter of fact, as of today, we don’t see Adeleke as a member or part of APC as a party. Let me be sincere with you, the APC in Osun is the party to beat.
“I want to tell you that if not because of the fear of the unknown that is disturbing the Adeleke family and the PDP, they wouldn’t have been showing the intention of coming to the APC.
“We have been saying this times without number that APC in Osun, if not because of the brigandage that followed the 2022 election and that of 2023, we shouldn’t have had PDP as elected officials across the state.
“Now that the Adeleke family has seen that their tenure is already terminated, come August 08, 2026, we are driving away the PDP from the Osun government, and we want to appeal to our people to remain calm. There is no space for PDP or Adeleke in the APC.”
But in swift reactions, Olawale Rasheed, the spokesperson to Governor Adeleke and the Special Adviser on Health, Dr. Akindele Adekunle, debunked the rumour.
The Special also mocked the APC for rendering its chairman incapacitated.
Adekunle said the ‘AMUBO’ camp, backed by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, has taken over the party’s affairs and relegated the APC chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal.
Adekunle mocked the APC for conducting its affairs in a shabby manner, slamming the party as disorganised and incapable of mounting a proper challenge against Governor Ademola Adeleke in the next air jordan 1 mid outlet year’s governorship poll.
“It is an irony that a party (APC) that daily entertained the fantasy of upstaging the PDP government in Osun state could not organise itself well. Some public analysts say the same members of the APC who were joyous over the defections of some Governors, Senator and Federal Lawmakers in other states to the APC, are resisting same in Osun.
OSUN DEFENDER sighted various social media posts where Oyebamiji’s supporters went as far as bashing President Tinubu, whom they had hailed as the master strategist when other opposition politicians in the country announced their movement to the APC.
