2027: “I Would Have Shot Him”, Wike Reacts To Okinbaloye’s Comments On TV (Video)
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reportedly joked that he would have shot the anchor of Channels Television’s Politics Today, Seun Okinbaloye if he had his way.
Wike while addressing journalists during his monthly media briefing, accused Okinbaloye of taking sides in the ongoing issues with political parties in the country.
According to the FCT Minister, the host during the programme on Thursday, acted unprofessionally by injecting his own opinion.
“If there’s anyway to broke the screen, I would have shot him.”

Okinbaloye had during the programme monitored by OSUN DEFENDER while speaking on the 2027 general elections, said, “what makes the race very interesting is when it is competitive not when only one party stands at the middle of the ballot and you are looking for the rest of the political parties. ADC looks like the only hope of the opposition going into 2027 and if this hope is dashed, we are doomed democratically speaking.”
Reacting to Okinbaloye’s words, Wike said, “I was thoroughly surprised yesterday when I was watching Politics Today. If there was any way to break the screen, I would have shot him.”
When asked if he would have shot the television or Okinbaloye, the Minister replied, “In fact, it would have got to him.”
“How can the interviewer be saying we cannot allow only one party. You are an interviewer and you are now injecting your own opinion,” he added.
Wike, however, later clarified that he did not mean that he would shoot Okinbaloye to kill.
“I am not saying I will shoot him by going to kill him. The point I am trying to make is that you are the interviewer, you can ask questions but if you are now the one saying things like that on national television, it means you’ve already taken a position which is not right,” the FCT Minister clarified.
