2027: Jonathan Not Interested In Presidential Race Against Tinubu – Adeyanju
Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has dismissed speculations that former president Goodluck Jonathan is preparing to contest the 2027 presidential election against President Bola Tinubu.
Adeyanju, in a Facebook post on Monday, said Jonathan has no interest in returning to the race, stressing that the matter should be considered closed.
“GEJ is not interested in running for president in 2027. That chapter is closed. Anything you hear about GEJ is a distraction,” he wrote.
There had been reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was pressuring Jonathan to make a political comeback in 2027.
The silence of the former president on the matter had further fuelled rumours that he was considering another run for the presidency.
