Popular Islamic scholar Sheikh Aliyu Ibrahim lambasted President Bola Tinubu over the current economic reality occasioned by the increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, otherwise called petrol.
The Islamic scholar said the development will cost President Bola Tinubu his re-election bid in 2027, stating that no sane person would support his re-election.
Osun Defender reports that filling stations across the country are selling fuel between N900 and N1,300 following the increase in fuel pump price by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC.
NNPC on Tuesday increased fuel price from N617 per litre to N897.
The development has been causing chaos across the country with transportation fares and prices of goods and services skyrocketing.
