The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa has dismissed widespread speculation suggesting he is nursing a governorship ambition.
Obasa made the clarification on Thursday, shortly after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu presented the 2025 appropriation bill, tagged the Budget of Sustainability, to the State House of Assembly.
Speaking to journalists, Obasa reiterated his commitment to strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.
He described the rumors as baseless and the work of detractors determined to twist his efforts at party consolidation into a political ambition.
“I have not seriously considered running for governor,” Obasa said, adding that his priority remains the growth and stability of the party in the state.
Meanwhile, Governor Sanwo-Olu unveiled a ₦3.005 trillion budget for the 2025 fiscal year, designed to sustain the state’s developmental momentum.
