2027: Tinubu May Fund Opposition To Divide Race – Deji Adeyanju Claims
Activist lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu will strategically fund the Obidient movement and former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2027 elections.
In a series of Facebook posts on Friday, Adeyanju alleged that Tinubu’s camp would support Labour Party’s Peter Obi to reject any opposition coalition and run independently, thereby weakening the chances of a united front against the ruling party.
“Tinubu will fund Obidients again in 2027. E too sure! And Atiku too. This will be a wonderful strategy, but they will be afraid of a coalition and won’t let it work,” he wrote.
He further suggested that Tinubu’s team understands political strategy well, referencing how coalitions have historically influenced elections in Nigeria.
“If na you be president, you go allow coalition? No be coalition remove GEJ?” he asked, implying that former President Goodluck Jonathan lost in 2015 due to opposition unity.
Adeyanju also criticized the PDP, claiming the party’s survival in its current form is detrimental to the opposition. He specifically targeted Nyesom Wike, accusing him of deliberately weakening the party from within.
“PDP is a useless party and that is why Wike is still their member and will continue to destroy them from within.
“And if you argue with this assertion, you are also useless. PDP must die in Wike’s hands. PDP must die for the opposition to get better,” he asserted.
