Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State on Wednesday, launched the Imole Youth Corps, 21 months after his administration dissolved the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (O’YES).
OSUN DEFENDER reports that the O’YES scheme was dissolved on February 16, 2023.
But the Governor while speaking during the extended Senatorial meeting ‘Ipade Imole’ in Osogbo, announced the launch of the programme.
The Governor, however, did not announce the number of youth to be absolved into the scheme.
Adeleke said, “I am also pleased to announce the launch of Imole Youth Corps, providing a transitional job platform for our teaming youth. Details will be communicated by the coordinating team shortly.”
Adeleke also said he had directed the negotiation team on the new minimum wage to expedite resolutions on any outstanding matters.
Part of his speech reads,” As we enter the second half of our tenure, we assure Osun people of timely completion of all ongoing projects across the State and initiate new ones. We will maintain our focus on both hard and soft infrastructure. I promise our people that we will not abandon any projects either started by us or inherited from the previous administration. By December, our government will unveil new elements of the five-point agenda, emphasizing soft infrastructure.
