22-Year-old Man Arraigned Over Burglary, Theft

A 22 years old man, John Akande was last Tuesday arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate court over alleged burglary and theft.

Akande who conspired with five others on 26 January, 2018 committed the offence around Zone 1 Area, Kobongbogboe, Osogbo.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Abiodun Fagboyinbo, told the court that the accused person broke into one Oriade Lukman house and stole the sum of N45,000, one Nokia phone valued N8,000, one Lenovo phone valued N12,000, one Plasma TV valued N100,000 and one Slippers Sandal valued N2,500 all properties valued N157,500.

He also said that the accused person on the same day broke into one Abdulazeez Saheed’s room by removing his burglary proof and stole the sum of N107,000, one stabilizer valued N2,500, one small phone valued N12,000 and one Solo phone valued not  yet known.

He said the offences committed are contrary to and punishable under section 516 and 411 of the criminal code Cap. 34 vol. ll laws of Osun State Nigeria, 2003.

The accused person who had no counsel pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge of stealing and burglary slammed against him.

The Magistrate, O.T Badmus granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties.

He then adjourned the case till 20 February, 2018 for hearing.
