A 23-year-old man, Ayodele Gabriel, has lost his life in a fire incident that occurred at his apartment in Sakura Estate, Sagamu area of Ogun State.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident, stating that Ayodele was found unconscious in the bathroom and later pronounced dead at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital.
The Landlord of the apartment, Emmanuel Oluwaseun, told the police that he noticed the fire and alerted neighbours who helped put out the flames and force open the door.

The Police said the cause of the fire was still unknown, adding that investigation into the incident has commenced.
Odutola said, “The incident was reported to the Sakura Police Division on August 28, 2024, by the landlord. We have started our investigation. Our men went to the scene; the cause of the fire is unknown.”
