25-Year-Old Man Arrested For Stealing Nine Air Conditioners In Osun
A 25-year-old man, Micheal Eze has been arrested by operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps for alleged theft of nine air conditioners.
Eze, who hails from Ebonyi State, worked as a private security guard at the GRA, Osogbo before he was arrested.
A statement signed by the Corps Commander, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi (Rtd), revealed that the suspect was arrested on Monday at the G.R.A, Osogbo, around 7:30 am.
According to Adewinmbi, โEze was arrested for stealing air conditioners from the house where he was employed as a private security guard.
โThe operatives swung into action after a complaint was made against the suspect for stealing the air-conditioners from the house where he works as a security guard.
โHe was caught in the act after selling nine air conditioners worth four hundred thousand Naira each to Hausa scrap buyers at five thousand Naira each. Two air-conditioners were recovered from his buyers.
โUpon preliminary investigation, he confessed to perpetrating the act and revealed that this is not his first time of perpetrating the crime and selling the stolen items to his Hausa scrap customers.โ
The suspect has been handed over to the Department of State Services, DSS, for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
