Justice Musa Ubale of a State High Court sitting in Jigawa on Thursday, sentenced 25-year-old Aminu Ali, to life imprisonment for raping and sodomising a 10-year-old boy (name withheld).
The judge found the convict, an indigene of Aukayawa Quarters in the Gwaram Local Government Area of the state, guilty after the prosecution had established “beyond reasonable doubt” that he lured the victim and engaged in anal sex with him.
Five witnesses were presented with four exhibits submitted, including a medical report by the prosecutor to prove his case.
Justice Ubale in his ruling, said the prosecution had established its case beyond reasonable doubt.
Consequently, the judge sentenced the convict to life imprisonment under Section 3 (2&4) of the Violence Against Person Prohibition Law of Jigawa State (VAPP LAW).
Justice Ubale, however, stated that the convict has the legal right to appeal the judgment within three months.
