Osun NUJ bestows last respect on its pioneer Chairman,Lekan Awoyemi

 

The final burial ceremony of the pioneer chairman of Nigeria union of journalists, State of Osun council , Mr Lekan Awoyemi begins tomorrow with Service of songs at his residence , Oke Oniti, Osogbo by four o’clock in the evening.

 

A statement by the chairman of the union,Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu and secretary Comrade Bukola Elufadejin indicated that Wake keep will hold on Thursday at ANCOPPS house, Oke oniti,Osogbo by four o’clock in the evening .

The statement noted that Lying in state and tribute service organised by NUJ and League of Veteran Journalists will hold on Friday at NUJ press centre, Osogbo by eight o’clock in the morning while Funeral service will follow at All souls Anglican church, Oke fia,Osogbo, by eleven o’clock in the morning.

It enjoined members of the union to be part of the burial activities so as to pay last respect to the pioneer chairman of the union.

Late Lekan Awoyemi who died on march 28 retired as Coordinating Director in the Ministry of Information and Civic orientation in the state.
