A man simply identified as Seyi has committed suicide in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of the State of Osun.
According to media reports, Seyi, an operator of a gambling shop reportedly committed suicide by setting himself ablaze.
According to eyewitnesses, the deceased locked himself up in his gambling kiosk situated in the central area of Ikire and set himself on fire. It was the smoke coming out of the kiosk that alerted people, who initially did not know he was inside.
However, Seyi had been badly burnt before residents realized what had happened.
As at press time, the reason for the action of the deceased could not be ascertained.
The spokesperson of the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident to newsmen when contacted.
