50 Nigerians Develop Active Tuberculosis Every Hour
. As Country Ranks Second Globaly
Nigeria ranks second in the world for the highest number of children with tuberculosis (TB), the Federal Government has stated.
Nigeria is second only to India in the global child tuberculosis index.
The Federal Government lamented that 50 Nigerians develop active TB cases every hour with 10 out of them being children.
Also, every hour, 18 Nigerians die from TB, which is a preventable and curable disease.
Minister of State for Health, Dr Olorunnimbe Mamora, disclosed during the ministerial briefing to commemorate 2021 World TB Day with the theme: ‘the clock is ticking’.
