The Rotary Club, District 9125 Nigeria, has reached out to 5,000 residents of the State of Osun, in its free medical outreach exercise.
The medical outreach covered Malaria Screening and Treatment, HIV Testing and Counselling, Diabetes and Glucose Level Screening, Hypertension Screening and Treatment and Deworming of Children.
Others are the Distribution of Insecticide treated mosquito nets, family planning counselling and distribution of condoms, as well as COVID-19 awareness and sensitisation.
Flagging off the programme held across the state in commemoration of the 2022 Rotary Family Health Day, on Tuesday, Rotarian Kayode Olowolagba, the Zonal Coordinator, Zone 1 and DGN, District 9129, said that the initiative is an age-long effort of the organisation to promote the healthy living of the people.
Olowolagba explained that the organisation since inception, has not reneged on its mission to provide humanitarian services to the people especially at the grassroots.
He disclosed that health professionals were dispersed to varying communities statewide, to carry out the assignment.
The State Coordinator of the club, Rotarian Folake Adebayo, who is also the Past Assistant Governor of the District 9125, urged well-meaning Nigerians and individuals to support activities of the rotary club in changing lives and ensuring the healthy living of the people.
Beneficiaries of the free medical outreach lauded the rotary club, for the annual medical outreach, advising government at all levels to further organisations who are keenly interested in supporting them, to guarantee the welfare of the people.
