Governor Ademola Adeleke has commended the Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Ashiru Olatoye Olaniyan, for his tremendous achievements as a monarch in the last 50 years.

Adeleke said Oba Olaniyan has brought significant development to his community and his subjects since ascending the throne.

Represented by his Commissioner for Political Affairs, Dr. Biyi Odunlade, at the grand-finale of the 50th coronation anniversary of the Olobu, on Saturday, Adeleke described Oba Olaniyan as a role model, congratulating the monarch on his latest feat.

He said, “When a monarch has spent 50 years on the throne, it means he has not only ruled long but also ruled well. I want to thank Olobu for bringing development to his community and his people.

“On behalf of the government of Osun State, we congratulate Baba Olobu for this milestone. It’s a great feat.”

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of the Olobu 50th Coronation Anniversary, Alhaji Abdul Wahab Falowo, said the royal father has been a shining example of selflessness, compassion and devotion to the well-being of the community.

He noted that the monarch’s foresight and wisdom have navigated the town through times of challenges, successes, and changes, adding that Oba Olaniyan is a leader that prioritises the betterment of his people.

In his words, the President of Ilobu-Asake Development Union, Pastor Olufemi Salako, said the reign of Oba Olaniyan has brought so much development to the community.

Salako said, “We thank God for the life of Kabiesi. If you know the landmark achievements his reign has brought to Ilobu in the last 50 years, you’ll see that the milestone is worth celebrating.

“During his time, Ilobu’s sons and daughters have risen to great positions in this country, both political and government positions, and many reached the peak of their careers during this period.”
