6 Dead, 60 Injured In Lokoja Accident
A road accident near Zone 8 Roundabout along Hassan Kastina Road in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, has claimed six lives and left 60 injured.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday when an articulated truck travelling from Bauchi to Enugu lost control, causing a crash.
Confirming the accident, Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Samuel Oyedeji, stated that the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lokoja Mortuary.

An eyewitness said, “It was a horrible sight. People were trapped, and it took hours to clear the scenes.”
No fewer than 13 people were killed and two injured in a similar crash on April, 1st 2024 involving a Sharon bus and a cement truck near Obajana market on the Obajana/Lokoja expressway.
The FRSC boss in a chat with newsmen urged members of the public to exercise caution while driving to forestall a recurrence.
