60-Year-old Man In Court Over Alleged Fraud Of N500,000

A 60 – year – old man, Mudashiru Adejumo Akede has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court over alleged fraud of N500,000.
Mudashiru was docked on Tuesday on a three-count charge borthering on fraud.
The prosecutor Inspector Jafani Muslim told the court that the accused person committed the offence on April 2017 at 20b, Oke – Baale in Osogbo.
He explained that the suspect fraudulently obtained the sum of N500,000 from one Omoniyi Simeon Olasunkanmi with pretence to secure him an uncompleted building which was known to be false.
Jafani stated further that the accused person forged a document of uncompleted building he earlier assisted one Adeyemi Oladapo to purchase without his consent.
The prosecutor told the court that the offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 419, Section 390 (9) and Section 467 of the criminal code cap 34 volume 11.laws of Osun State 2003.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge alleged against him.
The Defence counsel, Barrister Okobe Najite prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal and affordable terms.
The magistrate Mr O. T Badmus granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He said the sureties must reside within the court jurisdiction, sworn to affidavit of means and provide evidence of tax payments with three passports photographs.
The case was adjourned to June 8 for hearing.
