A 64-year-old landlord, Samuel Famakinwa, was on Wednesday, arraigned before an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for alleged disconnection of electricity and water supply from a tenant’s apartment.
The defendant was charged with a three-count charge bordering on breach of peace and unlawful disconnection.
Earlier in court, Police prosecutor, ASP Benedict Aigbokhan, said the defendant committed the offences sometime in October 2023, at No. 9, Asungbolu St., Igando, Lagos.
The defendant according to him, unlawfully disconnected electricity cable and pipes supplying water to the apartment of the complainant, Mr Bolaji Eniola.
According to him, the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of the peace.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 168 (1) (d), 247 and 340 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate K. A. Ariyo granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until March 11 for mention. (NAN)
