700 Households Get Relief Grant In Niger

No fewer than 700 households has benefited from the relief grant presented by Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago, in Minna from the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons.

Bago made this known after making presentations to some of the households beneficiaries of the relief materials.

He also announced a take-off grant of N500m stating that it was part of his efforts to cater for the IDPs in the state.

Bago, who decried the high number of Internally Displaced Persons in the state also set up the state’s Refugees Commission. The commission will effectively address the difficulties faced by the IDPs in the state.

“The state refugees commission will operate under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management and effectively address the difficulties faced by the IDPs.

“We are supposed to feed Nigeria not to be fed but unfortunately this is where we find ourselves,” Bago said.
