The Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly and Honourable member representing Ife North, Rt. Hon. Abidemi Oyewusi has assured the people of the state that the newly inaugurated assembly will make laws and policies that will uplift the people and grow the economy of the state.
Hon. Oyewusi in a statement released through his media aide, Segun Amure on Wednesday noted that the 8th assembly will focus more on laws that will revamp the agriculture, economy, health, education, security, youth empowerment among other sectors in the state.
The Deputy Speaker expressed his gratitude to God, honourable colleagues and the people of Ife North and Osun State for their faith in him.
His statement reads, “I thank God Almighty for the journey so far. I thank my honourable colleagues for nominating and voting for me to become the Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly.”
“I appreciate the Chief Judge of Osun State, Hon. Justice Adepele Ojo, and other judges for their presence at the inauguration.
“Special thanks to the Executive Governor, Osun State, H.E. Sen. Ademola ADELEKE, and his deputy, Prince. Kola Adewusi, former Governor, Prince. Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Teslim Igbalaye, Chief of Staff, Alh. Kazeem Akinleye, past Speakers of the Osun State House of Assembly, Security chiefs, traditional leaders and other leaders and well wishers of the PDP for their presence.
“At this juncture, the 8th Assembly’s honourable members cannot overstate the support and motherly role of Yeyeluwa of Ede land, Chief Mrs. Dupe Adeleke-Sani towards the success of the inauguration.
“The Deputy Speaker lauded the people of the Ife North State Constituency for their votes and support. My emergence as the Deputy Speaker is an affirmation that dreams come true and history was made.
“Rt. Hon. Oyewusi, therefore recounted his words while taking the oath of office that unity, love, and peace within the hallowed chamber will help achieve the goals and meet the expectation of the Osun State citizens.”
