Six NPFL Refs Listed For Suspension
Six referees in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) have been recommended for suspension by the League Management Company (LMC).
The LMC, which oversees the running of the league, explained that the six referees “failed to meet up with the high standard expected in the NPFL and made decisions which were obviously wrong.”
Umar Mohammed, Aliyu Abdullahi, Saleh Mohammed and Samuel Agba are referees recommended to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) by the LMC for suspension.
Assistant referees Emmanuel Udoh and Felagha Awudoola complete the list.
“The said referees failed to meet up with the high standard expected in the NPFL and made decisions which were obviously wrong and which had a direct impact on the outcome of the matches.
“We, therefore, request that they are withdrawn from consideration for future NPFL matches, pending a full investigation into their performances,” the LMC wrote to the NFF in a letter on Tuesday.
