Tragedy struck in the early hours of Tuesday in Benin city Edo State as youths and policemen clashed over the death of a cab driver allegedly caused by the police operatives who mounted the checkpoints for their daily routine exercise in their town. The driver identified as David was pushed by one of the policemen at the checkpoints towards an oncoming petrol tanker which crushed his head, killing him instantly.
