Iwobi: Arsenal Players Are Motivated To Win Europa League Title For Wenger
Nigeria forward, Alex Iwobi, has stated that Arsenal players want to give their manager, Arsene Wenger a perfect send-off by winning the Europa League title.
The Gunners face Atletico Madrid in their second leg semi-final game at the Wanda Metropolitan Stadium on Thursday.
The first leg at the Emirates Stadium last week Thursday ended in a 1-1 draw.
“We are really motivated – especially by what he (Wenger) has done for the club,” Iwobi told Sky Sports News.
“We are trying to make him end the season on a high. And not just for him but for ourselves as well, so we are doing our best to get the result.
“We are very confident. We were unfortunate not to get the result we wanted against them in the first leg, but we are very confident and believe we can go to the final.”
Olympic Marseille of France and Red Bull Salzburg of Austria will clash in the second semi-final.
The final will be played in Lyon, France on May 16.
