The Chairman, Egbedore South Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Honourable Kola Ajao has charged market men and women to be committed to prompt payment of all their levies due to the government.
This is just as he assured the traders of the commitment of his administration to ensure that conducive atmosphere is created to make lives meaningful for the people of the council area.
He spoke when he held a meeting with the leaders of the Faridah Market, Dada Estate, Olorunsogo in Egbedore South LCDA recently, aimed at guaranteeing the progress of the market being the only one in the LCDA.
The meeting, according to the Information Officer of the council, was called purposely for the progress of the market and ensures increase in revenue generation.
Suggestions on how to improve the standard of the market were offered by the executive members of the market.
Some of the suggestions, according to the statement, were that a market day should be collectively fixed so that sales can be improved, prayer sessions should be held on the market and there should be review of the annual payment of ground rent.
Ajao, while speaking called for maximum cooperation of market men and women by paying all levies as and when due, promising to ensure proper welfare in the market.
The Head of Finance and Supplies department, Mrs Ajagbe A.A, enjoined the leadership of the market to agree on the particular month which the ground rent will be collected so that the collection would be in bulk and useful to the council.
The Council Manager, Alhaji Badru Kolapo commended the traders in the market for their cooperation and called for maximum cooperation of the market men and women whenever the workers in charge of revenue collection visit them.
